Placement of the week: Senior Network Engineer

Miranda Choeng from First Point Group's Shenzhen office assisted her client, a fast-growing software company to recruit a Senior Network Engineer to help steer a project that required someone with an extensive tech background to urgently grow their Japanese business. 

The challenge:

The main challenge for this role was finding a candidate with the relevant experience. The covid pandemic caused processes to take longer, obtaining references, for example. This role required the candidate to go on-site to support a major project with a client,  which caused an issue due to the strict entry requirements by the Japanese Government.  After four months the restrictions in Japan eased, and the client was finally able to send an offer. “The client was great to work with and was very proactive. The difficulty was finding the right candidate for the client. The pandemic affected the hiring process and caused it to take longer than hoped." - Miranda Choeng.

The result:

There was an urgency to find the right candidate as this project needed technical support immediately onsite. Our support and dedication allowed for someone to be offered the role, despite some of the challenges that arose during the process. The client could then relax as they knew the project finally had the right person to perfectly execute it. “Once I found the right candidate, the process from reference to offer was immediate. The client and candidate were both extremely happy and couldn't wait to start working on projects together." - Miranda Choeng.
