By way of introducing the report, here is a snippet of the market commentary from the Open RAN and Disaggregated Networks section.
Research firm Dell’Oro predicts the value of the Open RAN market could reach $15bn by 2025. Whilst this is the global market value, there are several initiatives helping to rapidly progress Open RAN in the UK. The UK Government has agreed with the four domestic operators to fulfil a goal to boost deployments so that 35% of the UK’s mobile network traffic is carried over Open RAN by 2030. In addition, the Government made a £51m investment in Open RAN and future technologies, as well as backing the Telecom Infra Project’s (TIP) new consortium to accelerate Open RAN deployment in the UK.
We are working with many new companies in this space, the majority of whom have ambitious growth plans in 2022 and will need talented telco professionals to drive this. We are seeing a demand in recruitment for PHY Layer Engineers, Pre-Sales Engineers/ Managers, and Technical Project Managers. The market for talent in Open RAN has seen huge growth in the last few years. The traditional vendors have their offerings, of course, but alongside this come several new players who aim to disrupt the market with their products and solutions. It will be interesting to see how this pans out from a recruitment angle in 2022.We hope you find the report relevant, insightful and useful, and of course if you ever want to have a confidential discussion with one of our specialist consultants about your career, your team, or your hiring plans, please do look for your most relevant contact’s details at the end of this report.
