QA/QC Officer – Renewable Energy (Solar PV + BESS)
Location: Rietfontein/Upington, Northern Cape, South Africa
Duration: Initial 5 Months, starting July/Aug 2025

We are recruiting a QA/QC Officer for a leading client in South Africa for a 5-month contract assignment within the renewable energy sector. Based in Rietfontein/Upington, Northern Cape, the successful candidate will support Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities across a hybrid energy facility comprising solar PV, BESS, and a 33kV Eskom switching station.
Project Scope Includes:
- 33kV Eskom switching station
- 33kV Overhead Transmission Line
- 6.1MWh / 1.54MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS)
- 2.76MWp Solar PV Plant
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure quality compliance across all phases of construction and commissioning
- Conduct inspections, audits, and reviews of construction activities and documentation
- Support implementation and monitoring of QA/QC procedures and policies
- Interface with contractors and suppliers to ensure adherence to quality standards
- Maintain accurate records and reporting in line with project QA/QC requirements
Requirements:
- Diploma/Degree in Engineering or Quality Management
- Quality Management Certification (ISO 9001 or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years’ QA/QC experience in the construction or energy sector
- Familiarity with SANS standards and renewable energy project documentation
- Relevant certifications in QA/QC processes and inspection (preferred)
Additional Info:
- Candidates must be based in South Africa and able to mobilise to the Northern Cape
- Competitive daily/hourly rate offered, based on experience
