Network Engineer
Location: Warsaw (3 days per week on-site)
Contract Length: 6 months
Start: ASAP
We are hiring an experienced Network Engineer for a 6-month contract opportunity with a global technology client. This role offers the chance to work on complex enterprise-scale network environments, engaging directly with internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and resolve critical infrastructure issues.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as escalation SME for advanced network incidents and outages
- Troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 networking issues across multi-vendor environments
- Manage network alert responses and root cause analysis (RCA)
- Interface with telecom providers and hardware vendors
- Assist with Wi-Fi troubleshooting, documentation, and design
- Collaborate with global engineering teams to deliver service improvements
- Mentor junior engineers and support network documentation efforts
Requirements:
- 5+ years’ experience in enterprise networking roles
- Strong knowledge of switching (RSTP/MSTP, VLAN, ARP) and routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, VRRP)
- Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, HP, Aruba, and/or Arista gear
- Skilled in IPv4/IPv6, VxLAN, SNMP, 802.1x, and IPsec
- Solid understanding of enterprise network architecture and ITSM best practices
- Comfortable in Linux environments; scripting (Python/Bash) is a bonus
- Fluent English communication skills
Nice to Have:
- Cisco CCNP (or higher), Juniper JNCIE or similar
- Global enterprise experience
- Experience designing and maintaining wireless networks
- Strong documentation and mentoring abilities
