Job Title: Health and Safety Coordinator

Project: 100MWp Utility-Scale Solar PV Project
Contract Duration: 20 Months
Start Date: July 2025
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Health and Safety Coordinator to support the safe execution of a 100MWp solar PV project in Portugal. This role is critical in ensuring all site operations are compliant with Portuguese safety regulations, client HSE requirements, and international best practices during the construction and commissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities:
Implement and maintain the project’s Health and Safety Management Plan.
Conduct regular site inspections, toolbox talks, and safety audits.
Ensure compliance with local occupational health and safety legislation and project-specific HSE standards.
Monitor contractor activities to ensure adherence to safety protocols.
Lead incident investigations and ensure timely reporting and corrective actions.
Support the preparation of risk assessments, method statements (RAMS), and safe work procedures.
Coordinate with subcontractors to promote a strong safety culture on-site.
Organize safety inductions and ongoing HSE training sessions for all personnel.
Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and training.
Collaborate with the Environmental Technician to align HSE and environmental practices.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Degree or diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a health and safety role on construction or energy projects.
Strong knowledge of Portuguese HSE legislation and EU directives.
Certified HSE training (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
Proficient in incident investigation and root cause analysis methodologies.
Fluent in Portuguese and proficient in English.
Valid driver’s license and ability to be based at or travel regularly to the site.
Preferred Skills:
Experience on renewable energy or solar PV projects.
Familiarity with ISO 45001 standards.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a proactive mindset
