The BMS (Building Management System) Engineer for the Data Center is responsible for the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of BMS controls to ensure efficient and reliable operation of critical infrastructure systems. This role involves monitoring HVAC, electrical, fire suppression, and other building systems to maintain optimal performance, energy efficiency, and compliance with data center operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
BMS Design & Implementation:
Design, configure, and program BMS or data center environments.
Integrate BMS with other critical systems (EPMS, DCIM, fire alarms, etc.).
Develop control strategies to optimize energy efficiency and system reliability.
System Monitoring & Maintenance:
Monitor BMS performance, alarms, and trends to ensure uptime and efficiency.
Troubleshoot and resolve BMS-related issues promptly.
Perform regular system updates, patches, and backups.
Data Center Operations Support:
Ensure HVAC, cooling, and power systems operate within defined parameters.
Collaborate with facility teams to maintain optimal environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, airflow).
Support incident response and root cause analysis for BMS-related failures.
Compliance & Documentation:
Ensure compliance with industry standards (Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, ISO 27001).
Maintain accurate documentation of BMS configurations, changes, and SOPs.
Conduct regular audits and system performance reviews.
Continuous Improvement:
Identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements.
Recommend upgrades and enhancements to BMS infrastructure.
Stay updated with emerging BMS technologies and best practices.
