Job Title: Service Engineer Technician

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Service Technician is responsible for all service-related work, including chargeable tasks such as inspection plans, breakdown repairs, maintenance, warranty labour, commissioning, and assisting after-sales engineers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Ensure a safe working environment and maintain the safe operating condition of equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
2. Provide 24-hour telephonic support for customers needing assistance.
3. Conduct site inspections to evaluate and cost jobs.
4. Perform chargeable warranty labour efficiently.
5. Conduct site inspections on buildings lacking maintenance to identify opportunities for securing maintenance contracts.
6. Compile comprehensive written reports of findings, including photographic evidence.
7. Generate new work opportunities on contracted sites by recommending system improvements.
8. Execute all commissioning requirements for VRV and chiller systems.
9. Complete and communicate job cards with service coordinators daily/weekly.
10. Collaborate closely with service coordinators and spare parts controllers to ensure optimal teamwork and service delivery.
11. Maintain up-to-date product knowledge by attending web-based training sessions on sales and technical courses.
12. Participate in team-building sessions as required.
13. Travel locally or internationally as needed.
14. Work overtime when necessary to maintain optimal service levels.
EXPERIENCE
1. Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in service and maintenance activities.
2. At least 3 years of commissioning experience.
3. Minimum of 5 years of fault-finding experience.
4. At least 3 years of installation experience.
5. Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.Capability to calculate heat loads and general HVAC requirements.
6. Computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and email.

EDUCATION
1. Grade 12 or N3 HVAC Diploma (Technical College).
2. National Trade Certificate in HVAC&R.
3. Safe Handling of Refrigerant Certification, Category B (SAQCC).
4. Safety training certification.
5. First Aid Level 1 certification.
