Network Optimisation Engineer – Ericsson RAN (4G/5G)

About the Role
We are seeking a high-performing Network Optimisation Engineer to join our RAN Performance & Optimisation team. You will play a key role in enhancing 4G and 5G network performance across Ericsson RAN platforms through advanced parameter tuning, feature evaluation, and end-to-end optimisation. Your work will directly influence customer experience, network quality, and strategic evolution of our 5G capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse 4G and 5G Ericsson RAN performance using drive test L3 logs, KPI trends and customer experience metrics to identify improvement opportunities.
Design, prepare and implement technical trials aimed at improving LTE/VoLTE/5G radio performance.
Evaluate and optimise Ericsson 4G, 5G (SA/NSA) and VoNR features and technologies to drive continuous improvement in RAN KPIs and customer experience.
Conduct deep-dive analysis of Ericsson Radio KPIs, failure causes and trace protocols to identify end-to-end performance issues.
Assess competitor network capabilities and architectures to support strategic development of our 5G roadmap.
Collaborate closely with Core Network and Transmission Design teams to ensure end-to-end solutions meet or exceed RAN performance targets.
Qualifications & Experience – Must Have
Comprehensive knowledge of Ericsson LTE/VoLTE/5G systems, architectures and 3GPP specifications.
Proven experience improving Ericsson Radio performance for coverage, quality and overall network KPIs.
Strong ability to design and deliver technical solutions for LTE/VoLTE/5G RAN optimisation.
Hands-on expertise analysing drive test logs (Accuver XCAP, Actix, TEMS) and Wireshark traces for 4G/5G.
Minimum 5 years’ experience within a Mobile Network Operator, Vendor or Telecom Consultancy working directly with LTE/VoLTE/5G technologies.
In-depth knowledge of L3 drive test events and analysis.
Degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
