Regional Sales Account Manager



Role Summary:

The Regional Sales Account Manager holds a senior-level position with broad strategic and commercial accountability. This role is responsible for shaping regional sales strategy, owning revenue and quota performance across a defined U.S. territory, driving growth initiatives, managing key client relationships, and ensuring alignment with overall global business objectives.





Key Responsibilities




  • Build, maintain, and grow executive-level customer relationships, acting as a trusted advisor from initial opportunity identification through to deal closure.

  • Develop and execute the regional sales and account strategy, including pipeline management, forecasting, quarterly business reviews, and strategic account planning to ensure strong pipeline coverage and year-over-year growth.

  • Work closely with Product and Marketing teams to enhance and refine the company’s positioning in the marketplace.

  • Assess market dynamics, competitive landscape, and customer needs to shape effective go-to-market sales and marketing strategies.

  • Partner with Product and Service teams to ensure timely, in-scope delivery and achievement of customer satisfaction goals.

  • Conduct regular onsite and virtual meetings with customers and prospects to gather requirements and deliver accurate, timely proposals.

  • Present tailored product and service solutions to key stakeholders and decision-makers to secure competitive wins.

  • Collaborate with regional sales peers and cross-functional partners, including technical sales, solutions engineering, and supply chain teams.

  • Maintain ownership of forecasting cycles (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually), with a strong focus on accuracy and tracking performance against targets.

  • Leverage Salesforce (CRM) to manage pipeline activity, customer engagement, and forecasting processes.





Qualifications




  • 10+ years of progressive experience in telecom sales, including regional or territory leadership across service provider and enterprise segments.

  • Proven experience selling both Fixed Wireline (FTTx/xPON access and subscriber solutions) and Wireless (fixed and mobile) offerings.

  • Experience selling DWDM transport solutions.

  • Experience selling cloud-based Management & Control software platforms.

  • Demonstrated success managing multi-state or multi-region U.S. sales territories.

  • Strong industry background in telecommunications, networking, SaaS, or related technology sectors.

  • Track record of leading complex negotiations and closing high-value deals.

  • Excellent executive communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Willingness and ability to travel frequently across the U.S.





Preferred Skills




  • Experience working within global, matrixed organizations.

  • Background working with similar OEM or solution providers.

  • MBA or advanced technical/engineering degree.
