About the Role
We’re looking for an experienced Senior 5G RAN Architect to play a pivotal role in shaping next-generation radio access technologies. You’ll work at the heart of our product development lifecycle—driving architecture, design, verification, and performance optimisation across 5G NR protocol software. This is a high-impact role for someone who thrives on solving complex technical challenges and influencing product direction in a fast-moving, global environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead product development activities including HLD, LLD, feature design, implementation, and verification for 5G NR protocol software.
- Analyse 3GPP features and drive development across multiple subsystems, ensuring robust testing and high-quality delivery.
- Provide expert guidance on intricate design issues and architectural decisions.
- Continuously improve system performance through optimisation and high-quality engineering practices.
- Design, validate, and implement advanced 5G architecture components such as Carrier Aggregation, Network Slicing, and Scheduling.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate new features and emerging technologies.
- Drive innovation by exploring new programming paradigms and modern software architectures.
- Ensure system reliability and scalability through rigorous testing, documentation, and best-practice engineering.
- Develop architectural standards, guidelines, and frameworks to support consistency across projects.
- Partner closely with product management to align roadmap priorities with customer needs and market trends.
Your Profile
- 10+ years in RAN design, optimisation, and troubleshooting, including 5+ years working directly with 5G/LTE technologies.
- Deep understanding of 4G LTE and 5G NR, including radio interface protocols, PHY/MAC layers, and eNB/gNB configurations.
- Strong hands-on programming experience in C, C++, Linux (async/sync multithreaded code), Windows, and performance optimisation.
- Proven ability to debug complex gNodeB issues, including log analysis and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with key layers/sublayers such as MAC, RLC, PDCP, Scheduler, Power Control, Link Adaptation, GTP-C, GTP-U.
- Experience with CI/CD tools including Jenkins and Git.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in an international, cross-functional team.
