Our client is a leading global data centre developer experiencing significant growth across Asia and international markets.
Backed by substantial investment and with an ambitious expansion strategy, they are delivering some of the most exciting data centre projects in the region. As a result, they are looking to appoint a Data Centre Commissioning Lead to support the delivery of a growing project portfolio in Hong Kong.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Commissioning Lead, but we are also open to speaking with strong Senior Commissioning Engineers or Commissioning Managers looking to take the next step in their career.
The Opportunity
You will lead commissioning activities across complex data centre projects, ensuring critical systems are successfully tested, validated, and transitioned into operation.
Working closely with project teams, contractors, consultants, and key stakeholders, you will play a critical role in ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead commissioning and handover activities across multiple projects.
- Develop and implement commissioning strategies, plans, and procedures.
- Coordinate testing, validation, and integrated systems testing.
- Review commissioning documentation, test procedures, and completion records.
- Manage commissioning schedules in line with overall project delivery programmes.
- Identify and mitigate technical and delivery risks.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, and specialist vendors throughout the commissioning process.
- Monitor progress and provide regular updates to project leadership.
- Drive quality, compliance, and operational readiness across projects.
- Support successful project handover and client acceptance.
Requirements
- Proven data centre commissioning experience.
- Experience within testing, commissioning, startup, turnover, or project delivery environments.
- Strong understanding of critical MEP systems and commissioning processes.
- Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders across complex projects.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong planning and organisational abilities.
- Experience working within fast-paced construction or mission-critical environments.
- Fluent English required. Additional Asian language skills would be advantageous.
